- KINTBURY -
19th - 23rd AUGUST
FOR AGES 11-21

All of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.
2 Cor 3:18

All of us need to be transformed in one way or another. The greatest transformation is to be united with God. It is a yearning set deep in our hearts, though sometimes hidden by what life throws at us, that is constantly calling to us. Left alone, we would struggle to respond to this in any meaningful way. Fortunately though, God gives us the PERFECT way to be transformed. He gives us Himself, His grace, His love!

No matter who we are, God is yearning to give us His all, so that we can become more and more like Him, for we are made in His image and likeness. It is our choice to respond, to be transformed into reflections of His glory and love.

This year at camp we will focus on the transformative power of God's love, focusing on 5 'supporting characters' in the New Testament, and learning how we can respond, in faith and fellowship, through the power of the sacraments, and in the ways we live our lives.

This year we have space for about 70 young people to come together to re-connect with old friends and make new ones, to learn more about our loving God and deepen their relationship with Him. It doesn't matter where you are in your relationship with Christ, you are welcome to come and be drawn deeper! Ask questions, spend time with our Lord, receive the Sacraments, have a lot of silly fun, and be renewed in your life and faith!

Please note this year's camp is returning to Kintbury. We still camp, but fewer spaces are available, so please book ASAP to avoid disappointment.

The camp is run by the Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph and an experienced team of volunteers who have been running FTF events for over 20 years.

Booking Form
  • I haven't been to Mass or done anything 'churchy' in a long time...can I still come?
Of course! This camp is for you! Come join the family. No matter where you are in your relationship with God, this week can be for you. The more you jump into it, the more you will get out of it. It is a Catholic camp, but we don't mind how 'Catholic' you feel you are. If you have a friend who isn't Catholic, but you think would benefit from coming (yes, of course they would) then you can invite them, as long as you come too :)
  • Who runs the camp?
The camp is run by The Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph and a team of experienced volunteers. We are dedicated to the health and well-being of every young person on site. We have qualified first-aiders, a trained nurse, and often a doctor too. There is also a Youth Team who meet the weekend before and do a lot to help with the smooth running of the camp and the caring of the other young people on camp. Without them it would be a lot harder!
  • How is the camping organised?
The campsite is divided into 3 areas: Boys, girls and family. If siblings of the opposite sex want to camp together, they pitch their tents in the family section.
  • I want to camp with a friend...is that possible?
Yes, if your friend is the same sex as you. Please check with them that they are happy to share with you BEFORE you fill out the booking form and state that you will be sharing.
  • What technology can I bring?
If you would like to bring your mobile that's fine. However there is limited reception and we will not be providing endless charging stations for you. So please only use it if/when you really need to. Please do not bring wireless speakers, ipads, laptopsetc. Not only is there a chance they may get damaged or lost, they are actually really distracting for the week. Part of the purpose and success of the camp is getting away from everyday life and re-focusing on what is most important; our relationship with God and each other, so that when we go home, we have something to hold on to and build upon. Unfortunately a lot of what the entertainment culture and society offers us is not really good for us, and so we need to be able to disconnect from this. The team will confiscate for the duration of the camp any technology that is used inappropriately. Sorry, it sounds harsh, but it is for your good and the good of the other young people at camp!
  • Can I bring food?
Please do not bring food with you. It makes a mess in your tent, might encourage rodents, harm small creatures, and the field is used by others the rest of the year. We are guests at the retreat centre and want to leave it in as good condition as it is prepared for us, ie., perfectly clear of rubbish. The camp is fully catered, with 3 meals a day, multiple breaks through the day (with drinks and biscuits), and hot chocolate before bed. There is also a tuckshop open twice a day. It has a spend limit though as the food provided is tasty and much healthier!
  • What are the facilites like?
There are dedicated (and newly refurbished) toilets and showers in the retreat centre, with individual dedicated facilities for males and females, and those with disabilities. Showers are individual units, and all facilities are cleaned daily. They are great! We encourage every young person to shower every day IN THE MORNING...they are nice and warm.
  • How much praying is there?
We do celebrate Mass together every day (except Monday). It is the centre of our camp in which Heaven comes to Earth and we meet God face to face. It's important. We do pray together at other points in the day as well, but there are plenty of other events in the timetable. There is a lot of silly fun, talks, stream time, chill time, workshops (crafty ones, chatty ones, musical ones, team building activities, sporty stuff), times to ask questions about your faith. There is also an opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Confession - an incredible opportunity to be reconciled (to be at peace) with God and receive His helping grace.
  • Can I join the youth team?
If you have attended multiple FTF camps before, you may request to join. It is hard work, and you are expected to have a particular level of maturity in character and spirituality. It is strongly requested that you attend the Youth Team weekend before camp starts too in preparation for the week. Just send Ben a message using the contact form below and ask :)
  • Are there camp rules?
Of course there are! :P They are all very reasonable though and nothing out of the ordinary. They are included in the booking forms as you have to agree to them when you book. If there is a serious infringement of them we will ask your parents/guardian to collect you immediately.
